... The Classroom is our World

In Touch With Nature Education can tailor trips to meet your school’s specific educational needs, moving beyond chalk and talk to bridge the divide between lessons taught and lessons really learned. By employing award-winning international teachers, we can put students in the field for hands on learning experiences that will prepare them for their exams in grade 12.

Our trips can be tailored to fit any curriculum or syllabus, especially the IB Geography, Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies courses. In Touch with Nature Education can cover all the basic topics of ecology and conservation at exciting locations; from biomes to biomagnification, from conservation to continental drift. We can also organize science field trips for the Group 4 Project.

Explaining the use of quadrants and transects on an IB exam becomes an easy task for students that have counted the number of periwinkles, starfish and clams in a square meter quadrant of a tidal zone, or laid out a transect from the tide mark to the forest edge. Creating a biotic index of benthic macro invertebrates in a mountain stream is another never to be forgotten lesson.

We also set up science class field trips to a great number of natural settings where we do all the work. It can be hard on teachers overwhelmed with daily tasks to organize the complex logistics of setting up a science field camp. Let us do that for you. We can take your students to some of the best learning locations on earth and set up your science class camp with the comfort level, safety and security you require.

To this end we employ strategies both in and outside the classroom. Using slide lectures, experiential games, songs and traditional Thai shadow-puppetry with animal characters, our Thai team brings fun-filled and impacting programs into Thai schools. Older students are taken into the parks on weekend outings where they combine fun and adventure with conducting crucial wildlife inventories of "keystone" species - gibbons, hornbills and giant fruit bats. These population census and mapping exercises are the first of their kind in many of Thailands protected areas. They provide the data vital to monitoring the health of a species. International school groups and family tours on our Reef to Rainforests program all further these studies.
