Day 5 - Rafting Trip Down the Nam Ou River

Wake up to a great day of adventure! We leave Luang Prabang at 7:00AM (following a hearty breakfast) for a full day rafting trip down the Nam Ou River.

A 50 km drive by car takes us to our put-in point at Ban Houei Luang. From here to our take- out point at Ban Hat Nga, is one of the fastest flowing stretches of the Nam Ou. Expect a couple of fast rapids (Grade 2-3+), plus stunning views of the scenery even along more placid stretches of river.

The Nam Ou winds it's way to the Mekong from the highlands bordering Laos and China; it is an indescribably beautiful river. Rugged mountains and continually changing rock formations are interspersed with quiet rural scenes of ever day Lao life.

We enjoy our lunch on a sandbank, before completing our river run and returning by car (40 min.) to our Guest House at 5:00PM.

Our final dinner together in Luang Prabang will one to long remember.
