• Everyone wakes early to stroll through the lovely grounds of the botanical garden where a wealth of high elevation birds can be easily spotted with the naked eye and binoculars.

• Breakfast is followed by a drive to Bali’s largest river, the Ayung, where we will set off on a spectacular rafting expedition through winding gorges, tropical forest and magnificent rice terraced fields.

• During the raft trip, students will have hands-on lessons in river hydrology as they negotiate chutes, haystacks, back eddies and whirlpools. They will also learn lessons in river erosion where the Ayung has sculpted the riverbanks.

• Our river adventure will include a picnic lunch and be followed by an opportunity to shop for souvenirs in Ubud’s famous arts and craft shops.

• A wonderful farewell dinner at our guesthouse will be followed by a closing ceremony to mark completion of an extraordinary trip together.
