Once again we set off early by mini-van to a magical place. Si Satchanalai is the sister city of Sukhothai, but a far less visited site. In the beauty of early morning light we will bicycle through the 700 year old ruins marvelling at the majesty of this once-great city.

Following a delicious lunch beside a tranquil river we will set off on another hour long drive to Sukhothai - the famed Dawn of Happiness where the Siamese Kingdom was born.

Sukhothai has an excellent historical museum filled with priceless antiquities. Much of present-day Thai culture, from writing, to language to sacred ceremonies, had its origins here. In the magic of late afternoon light we will explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site by bicycle.

Not far away is our hotel, the Thai Village Hotel, where we will enjoy a very special final might to our Thailand's Northern Treasures tour. Traditional foods, music and pageantry will culminate in a Loy Krathong ceremony, as we re-enact the oldest tradition in the Kingdom. (Overnight: Thai Village Hotel).
