• Today will be real a triathlon day for all of us as we set off from Stung Treng by mountain bike along a scenic river route heading south through villages and forests (25 km), then begin kayaking down the Mekong (3-hours) towards Kratie.

• But it’s not all about exercise. We will stop en route to meet the friendly villagers, to swim and enjoy a picnic lunch and to view and photo document the Mekong’s greatest concentration of dolphins.

• Over 100 dolphins in many pods can be found in the deep river pools in this stretch of the Mekong and it’s magical to just float quietly and listen to the sounds from their blowholes as the mammal’s surface close by our kayaks.

• After some time photo documenting surfacing dolphins, we will say goodbye to our kayaks and board a vehicle for the final 15 km drive south to Kratie.

• Kratie may be Cambodia’s most charming Mekong River town with many riverside guesthouses and restaurants serving a range of Asian and Western foods, perfect for the ravenous appetites the group is sure to have.
