Day 4 - Island Jungle Walk and Elephant Safari

Breakfast on the riverbank, and then break camp for more rafting adventures.

Noon signals an end to our river run and the transfer by bus (2 hours) to world famous Chitwan National Park. This 967 sq. km. protected area of sub-tropical forest and elephant grass is incredibly rich in large mammals (rhino, elephant, tiger and leopards) and an astonishing 522 species of birds.

We check in to Island Jungle Resort on an island in the Narayani River. This island is one of the park's prime habitats for Royal Bengal tiger. One-horned rhinoceros, Sloth bear, Spotted deer, Hog deer, Barking deer, Sambar deer, Wild boar and two species of crocodile.

At 4:00 pm we start an elephant safari, jungle walk (or boat trip) to view wildlife.

Dinner at 8:00 pm is followed by a night of jungle sounds from our lodges (or Safari tents) pitched beside the river. (Overnight: Island Jungle Resort)
